It can be very difficult to decide if your baby or child needs to see a GP. Children can seem unwell and then recover quickly or they can become unwell suddenly. It can be scary and worrying.
Where appropriate we’ll give babies and children under 16 on the day appointments if they are unwell.
If you are unsure if your child needs to be seen, you can always contact the practice nurse or GP for advice.
Childhood Immunisations
Throughout childhood, children are offered vaccines to protect them from potentially serious diseases. At this practice, the baby’s first immunisations are given by the GP and the remainder are given by the practice nurse. The practice nurse will arrange the child’s appointments and liaise with parents.
Minor Injuries
Children will often have bumps and scrapes. If you’r child suffers a minor injury please call the practice for advice before attending. In come cases it will be more appropriate to go to a minor injuries unit or A&E. If we’re able to assist, an appointment will be arranged.
