Our clinics are run by the Practice Nurse and Healthcare Assistants.
We have a flexible approach to clinics and as such they are not held on particular days or times. We try to combine patients needs to limit the amount of times they have to attend.
The Healthcare Assistants are responsible for the following;
- Phlebotomy (taking blood) available every morning between 9.00am and 12.00pm.
- Testing of specimens and samples
- Health checks
- Medication reviews
- Chronic disease reviews
- New patient checks
- Hypertension, weight loss and lifestyle advice
- Leg ulcers & dressings
- Suture removal and wound care
- Ear syringing / irrigation
- Smoking cessations
- Immunisations and injections
- Pill checks
- C- Card scheme
The Practice Nurse has additional responsibility for the following;
- Cervical screening
- Vaginal swabs
- Pessaries
- Coil checks
- Contraception & sexual health
- Minor injuries
- Childhood immunisations
- Travel advice and immunisations
- Family planning
