The NHS doesn’t pay for some of the services that a GP provides and therefore a fee is charged, and the work is considered to be ‘private’. The GP’s priority is the care of their patients and those duties always come first. Private work is done in the GP’s own time and is in addition to an already heavy workload. GPs are not under any obligation to do this work but will try their best to assist.
- Please be aware that you do not need a GP appointment for completion of paperwork. Please email your request or leave any paperwork in reception. Again, if you have any queries please email or contact reception and not the GP.
- Up to 10 working days is required to process all Non NHS Work. You’ll be invoiced accordingly, and payment is accepted by debit card, cash or bank transfer.
Private work includes private sick notes, insurance forms, holiday cancellation forms, medical reports, fitness to travel certificates, private prescriptions, passport signing and some vaccination services, driving medicals.
