Uwchaled Medical Practice is a dispensing doctors practice which means, because of our rural location, we can dispense medication to our patients.
The dispensary is run by a team of qualified dispensers, who will be more than happy to help you. We differ to a pharmacy in that we don’t sell medication and don’t have a pharmacist on site. The overall responsibility lies with the GP’s.
The team dispense several thousand items per month as well as answering your queries, ordering stock, undertaking admin and reception duties and all manner of other tasks, it’s a very busy working environment.
There are rules about who we can and cannot dispense medication to; generally, if you live within one mile of a pharmacy then we’re not allowed to dispense your medication and you’ll be a ‘non-dispensing patient’. This doesn’t affect the medical services that we provide to you.
The dispensary is a business which provides a valuable service to our patient community and enables us to invest in our medical services.

Dispensary phone line: 10.30am – 4.30pm
The dispensary will occasionally close for staff training. Details of these closures will be posted beforehand.
